It's A...

Pregnancy Highlights for 18.5 and 19.5 Weeks!

How Far Along: 18.5 Weeks with pics and 19.5 weeks today

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still not 100% sure on this one and I always forget to ask.

Maternity Clothes: Yes!! My t-shirts are beginning to get tight as well as some other things - I'm hoping to be able to remedy these problems soon! :)

Best Moment This Week: Finding out that Baby Phelps is a GIRL!!! She didn't cooperate at the ultrasound super great so the tech had to poke at her to get her moving (TJ thought the lady was hurting me and/or our little one, but it was nothing! He was being protective!). It seems like she may have that famous Morrison stubborn streak... And those of you who know me know that is my best quality! :) All of her organs checked out great - heart, brain, kidneys, lungs, umbilical cord. Her bones are forming and hardening perfectly. Her heart rate was 133 - which to me seems low, but our dr. said it was fine. Her heart was beating and all the muscles in it looked on track, so she's just fine!

Gender: GIRL!!! Lucy Paige Phelps - yay! I know that I had a "feeling" about a boy, but I was off! A word to the wise (and I know people told me this but I didn't listen and neither will you), don't trust the old wive's tales, the Chinese, classic "tell-tell" gender signs. They didn't work in my case! All things said boy! Just wait patiently and pray for your little one until that 18 week anatomy scan/ultrasound. And yes, now we know how to decorate the nursery! I am thrilled! I'll have to do another post on all the awesome things we had already found for the nursery before we found out what the gender was (seriously, we have some great finds from thrift and consignment stores that I can't wait to re-purpose!).

Movement: Still none :( My dr. said it should be around the 20th week because my placenta is being dumb and is over my cervix and on the front side of my uterus. So it's basically (from the inside out) Lucy Paige, amniotic fluid, placenta (which is really thick), uterus, and then layers of muscle and fat and that's why I haven't been able to feel her yet.

Food Cravings: Not really... I did really want Milo's Sweet Tea last night with our dinner - so TJ so very nicely ran down to the gas station and got it for me. It was perfect and the best way to wash down Sloppy Joe's! Not a craving really, but I've been having to drink LOTS of water so I find myself reaching for it all the time.

Aversions: Still the teeth brushings - eww!

What I Miss: Some of my favorite t-shirts!

Sleep: It has gotten so much better! (knock, knock, knock on wood!)

What I'm Looking Forward To: Next Wednesday - We are going to UAB for a specialized ultrasound. My amniotic fluid levels were low when we went last week and even though Lucy Paige's organs checked out, our dr. wanted to do the specialized ultrasound just to be sure. And that's fine with me! I'm thinking the levels were low because we had been at a church-wide camp the previous weekend and I didn't have access to water liked I'm used to at work and home. I could have (and should have!) just taken a case of water to keep with me but I didn't think about it. I'm a bit anxious about this appt. and ready to get there and check things out. I know Jesus is in control of her little life and mine, so every time I feel that anxious feeling I just have to remember Who is ultimately in control and let Him by my peace. Which is good for building patience - and I'll need it to deal with Lucy Paige's stubbornness! :)

Baby's Lucy Paige's Size: At 18 weeks she was about the size of a bell pepper and at 19 weeks she is about the size of an heirloom tomato

17 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 17 Weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am not sure - according to my bathroom scales, I haven't gained any weight. I'll ask the Dr. when we go back February 12. (I probably won't tell you though - it's none of your business! Ha!)

Maternity Clothes: As much as I can! I found 3 pairs of jeans, an awesome jersey knit skirt, and two shirts at Taylor Bugs, all 50% off! I spent $30 on all of that! I have a friend who is giving me some next week too! :)

Best Moment this Week: Getting to spend time with my Pop for the first time since Granny passed away. I have been so sick with the flu and crud that goes along with it and didn't want/need to go see him with and get him sick too. It was such a blessing to get to see him. That day I also stopped by the hospital to see my mom - she is a nurse and works there a few days a week after school. She brought out the doppler and I got to hear Baby Phelps' heartbeat! It was a good, strong 163! That is seriously the best sound on the world!

Gender: Honestly, I have this "feeling" that Baby Phelps is a boy. I don't have a preference as to what gender he/she is, I just want to know so I can start the nursery! There are too many things I love for a nursery and none of them are gender neutral.

Movement: None, yet. I know it's coming though! I can't wait!

Food Cravings: I have been craving milk, and I hate plain, white milk. Still do too... So I have had lots of cereal! A new favorite place that TJ and I discovered today - Steve's Grocery in Concord. Oh my word people, it's a gas station that serves deli and specialty meats, BOILED PEANUTS, pizza, hamburger steak, slurpies, all the wonderful gas station staples and gas! It is seriously so good.

Aversions: Brushing my teeth - that is the only thing that makes me gag. I hate it!

What I Miss: Being able to not have to go to the restroom every 30 minutes.

Sleep: It's not been too bad - I have to wake up every hour and a half or so to go to the restroom. There is also this thing called a sciatic nerve that runs from your hip and down through your leg. It is a beast and I don't like it. It gives me issues when I lay down at nights. But it's all worth it in the end, right? :)

What I am looking forward to: February 12 and 13! The 12th is our next appointment and if Baby Phelps cooperates we will find out the gender is, well the ultra sound tech and Dr. will know! We will actually find out the next day, on my older sister's birthday. I am excited to know what he/she is. I didn't want to find out at first, but TJ has convinced me that we "need" to know, which is fine because I need to decorate the nursery!

Baby's Size: At 17 weeks, Baby Phelps weighs as much as a turnip, around 5 ounces! Baby Phelps is around 5 inches long from head to bottom.
